David Gold, joint-chairman of West Ham United, has died at the age of 86 following a short illness
Gold had a long-standing connection with West Ham, having grown up opposite
the club's Boleyn Ground and representing the club at junior level.
He and joint-chairman David Sullivan took ownership of the club in 2010.
Gold's passing has been mourned by Sullivan, manager David Moyes,
and the players and staff of West Ham United. Moyes described Gold as

"a source of great support and encouragement" and said he would be greatly missed.
